Happy New Year!

2012
01.12

I hope you all celebrated National Sound Engineer Day yesterday – 12.1.12!  Darren and his team work really hard on Jam Nights to give every act a great sound, from show tunes through jazz to hard rocking blues and however much we thank them on the night there’s always room for more appreciation to be shown.

We’re back after the Christmas break on 30th January – the usual form applies, if you know you want to play please come by 7.30 and put your name down on my list. Or you can get in touch earlier by leaving a comment here, or by dropping me an email.

If you’re not playing but want to listen to some fantastic live music, with new talent coming through all the time, bring yourself, your ears and your friends for 8pm.

Happy New Year!

Sheila

Home Made Jam!

2011
11.26

This Monday’s jam will be the last of the year – we looked at the calendar and thought much as you love the club, you might prefer to be at home on Boxing Day with a box of Quality Street and The Great Escape on the telly.

So we’ve cooked up something special! Inspired by Belinda and her cigar-box guitars, this Monday we will be making special space for home-brew instruments. Washboards, tea chest basses, mouth bows…that strange fish with the carved back that makes a scrapy noise? Bring them all down!

Steve has suggested that anyone up for the Home Brew session should take a look at Man Of Constant Sorrow (famously NOT sung by George Clooney in O Brother, Where Art Thou, but let’s face it, ladies don’t love him for his voice) as that’s one of the songs we hope to have a crack at.

As ever, music will kick off at 8pm but if you want to play, please come from 7.30 so that I can sign you up and fit you in.
